Joe Guimond is a 55 year young musician based in Wenatchee. He originally hailed from the Detroit area and continued to cultivate musical influences from living and playing in Chicago, the Gulf Coast, Japan, Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest. Joe makes his living as first call bassist for several local and regional bands as well as performing with national artists travelling through the area without a full band. His first influence was the Les Paul and Mary Ford music played around the house on the family’s record player (way before 8 tracks, Cassettes and CD’s!). Exposure to many of the Motown artists performing around the Detroit area, as well as playing bass behind many of them when they toured Japan between 1979 and 1981, furthered studies into the importance of the rhythm section in the overall musical picture. When not playing bass, Joe is always working out unique arrangements on one of his archtop guitars of some old school R&B, blues or jazz standard to make it fresh and new.
